May Photography Challenge

April 29, 2018 0 Comments

It’s almost the end of April, which means another challenge is on our heels!  But first, let’s take a moment to think about how amazing and colorful our April was!  Who loved it?  If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to check out the images people have been sharing on Instagram!  Now…on to May!

The last few years in the photography world have been nicknamed “Macro May”, so we thought we’d join in this year!  Even if you don’t do macro per se, it’s fun to explore the world of up close.

We have 8 tutorials all about macro and up close that we’ll be sharing with you this next month.  With topics such as reverse freelensing, turning any lens into a macro lens, mobile clip on lenses, finding details around you, and tricks for adding a wow factor to your up close and macro work, you won’t wanna miss out!  Keep your eyes open for our new posts throughout the month!

If you’d like to join in on the up close/macro fun with us online, please be sure to tag #cic_closer!  We can’t wait to see what you find, and will no doubt be sharing some of your amazing images on our IG feed!

And on another note: we are looking for some contributors to write a post about a “Real Talk” subject.  This can be anything that has to do with creativity, photography, or even just life as a photographer.  If you’re interested, please fill this form out and let us know!

Emily Hamson

I'm a mom of 4 wild boys, who photographs mostly nature (partly because they don't run away or pull faces at me like my boys do). Being behind my camera is my therapy! In 2017 I decided to embark upon a personal photography project to find more creative ways to use my camera, and the CIC was born. I love to learn anything that goes along with photography, but I really love helping others learn new techniques even more!
